How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!
The loads being carried by today’s pastors and the problems they feel responsible for handling are enormous, even in small church settings. That’s why those who try doing it by themselves find their lives riddled with stress that has nowhere else to go but deeper inside, making the loneliness of their position even harder to bear, causing their spouses to shoulder more of the support than they can manage.
But thankfully, greater numbers of church leaders today are seeking out the brotherhood of their partners in ministry, and not just with those within their own doctrinal persuasions. Christ followers are ‘living together’ across denominational and cultural lines.
This is not easy for some. But everywhere it happens–everywhere that pastors from varying pulpits unite in fellowship, every time they learn and laugh and pray for each other–the body of Christ brightens by degrees. And the Christ Awakening we long and thirst for seems closer than it did even yesterday. We must do all we can to contribute to…
… be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you
(2 Corinthians 13:11)
… make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.
